Very good , I love catching Crappie and have spent my fair share of decades catching them. For many up here in the north they are a hard water fish whose flavor really stands out when the water temp is in the 30's. Do you ice them down to firm up the flesh in the south ?

That banging on the bottom of the boat would drive me crazy.

So you found out that it's always a jig that crappies will hit. I been stop fishing with Meadows years ago. I have over 1000 jigs that I fish for crappies. My favorite is black and chartreuse.

Dust with flour first then dip in buttermilk or egg the in cornmeal. The flour acts like glue and cornmeal sticks better.

I was fishing below Burgiss Falls catching small catfish and a turtle when I hooked something huge. At first I thought it was a Drum but it was a huge bluegill 2 to 3 pounds almost white. I showed the guy beside me. It was the biggest Bream I ever saw and I cught huge ones on the St. Johns River in FL. I was trying to decide what to do with it when it flipped out of my hand back into the water.

Do you find that bigger perch are in deeper water than the small ones? I find them in 20 to 25 ft but mostly all small ones
